CAREER NOTES
  • Selected by Cleveland Browns in 10th round (276th pick overall) of 1987 NFL draft.
  • Signed by Browns (July 25, 1987).
  • Signed by New York Giants (March 17, 1989)
  • Signed by Kansas City Chiefs (March 26, 1990).
  • Signed by Green Bay Packers (March 17, 1992) as a plan B free agent. (In fact, Winters signed one of the league's final Plan B contracts because unfettered free agency began the following year.)
  • Initially considered a backup offensive linesman and long snapper when he joined the Packers, Frank soon worked his way into the starting lineup and has anchored the offensive line since. 
  • Played in Pro Bowl - 1996 season
  • Put together a string of 74 consecutive starts that lasted until 1997.
  • Winters came back from a broken leg in 1998 and had a solid season in 1999 staring in all 16 games. 
  • 1999 Named to the All-Pro team of USA Today 
  • Member of the 200 club reaching the achievement in round 3 of the 2000 season against the Eagles.
  • Played last 3 1/2 games of 2000 season one-armed with a bad biceps injury.
  • In 2002 played in all 16 games for the seventh time as a Packer and for the 10th time in his NFL career.
  • In 2002 was just one of 11 NFL players with 16 or more years of experience.
  • Leading into season 2003 Frank has played in 231 games, the second-most among active NFL linemen, behind Lomas Brown (263) of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • Winters has been credited with providing the Packers' offensive line with attitude and toughness.
